Want to help make that change in YOUR community?

We do...and we have loads of fun doing it..

Rotaract provides its members with the opportunity to make a difference in the local community. Each club is free to decide the nature of its community events.

Below are some photos showing the kind of community work that we undertake in Bournemouth Rotaract.

  Supporting Local Fire Fighters

We are involved in a number of different events throughout the year with a local firestation, including car washes, open days and Christmas Fayres.

We help them run stalls, raising money, but most importantly, these events really bring the community together.

Painting a Classroom at Lynwood School for WORLD ROTARACT DAY

After a night of bowling on Friday what better way to spend Saturday than completing the first community project of the year. We had been assigned classroom 6T to give it a face lift ready for the children on Monday morning.

8 of us got to work, including the teacher, sanding down the walls and the paintwork on the windows before we started to paint. The walls were brighted with the colour called Meditation and the paintwork coloured with Lakeside. All paint was donated by Hurst.

the radiators, but it looked like they got more over them than they did the radiators!! It was a great day and I am sure we will be back at the school in the future to do more painting!

  Alderney School Football Kit   Footballteam

We discovered that a local School's Football Team didn't have a kit, so just before the season started we sponsored a new one for them. Below is a picture of the team in all their glory with their Head Master, their PE Teacher and Lisa and Hazel. We wish the team all the best!

  Youth Cancer Trust Tree Planting

We have also helped The Youth Cancer Trust who provide a holiday home for young adults with cancer. We were told that they had a problem with the prying eyes of the public staring at the guests on the patio in the back garden.

So a group of us went out and bought 6 conifer trees, went round and surprised them, they had no idea. We planted the trees in a place that would stop the public from seeing them on the back patio. That is once we had found the place. Ground Force were on standby because we didn't know what type of soil to use. It was a brilliant day and thoroughly enjoyable.

We are still working with the Youth Cancer Trust and return annually to tidy the gardens and make sure it looks perfect.
