10-pin bowling, a challenge against Rotaract and Rotary. A group of 9 of us teamed up to see if we could bit the Rotarians, unfortunately we did not succeed this time! But we did succeed in having great fun. This is an event we do at least once a year. Occationally instead of having normal meetings we decide to have a mini party, one such example was St Patrick's Day! Playing games such as Giant jenga, twister and ice-breaker challenges, with lots of Guinness too! |

Annually our club organises the Multi-District Karaoke Challenge and this year there was great attendance, 50 people in total from all over our district as well as other districts around Great Britain & Ireland. Some people chose to dress up, including the customary Elvis to a member from The Village People, who went on to win the best dressed! There was some talented singers amongst the group, but I don’t think anyone will be appearing on Stars in their Eyes! Last years winners of the worst act stood up to expectations and held off competition to win the award yet again!! Mike Sanders from Alton Rotary won most entertaining act for his rendition of Combine Harvester, although if I’m honest, we were the ones who put his name forward to sing it!! Sorry Mike. Finally, the best act went to a member from Southampton Rotaract, who forgot to tell us she used to be in a band! But as she came on her own not knowing anyone, I think she deserved to win! The event itself raised £400 for the 2005 National Conference, a magnificent achievement. It was good fun and none of us can wait until next year when we get to do it all over again! |

As a club we also enjoy regular BBQ's throughout the summer as well as taking part in other clubs social events such as pop quizes, wine tasting evenings etc. When the tempory ice rink is in town you will also catch a group of us skating round the rink, well trying to anyway! Can't find anyone to go to the cinema with? Trust me they'll be someone at Rotaract who wants to go! We often find ourselves trecking down to the cinema as a group to catch those latest releases. We also go out for meals, normally just to the pub but sometimes to more interesting places! |
